Slow to start...

As we watched our friend, Willi drive away we were informed that our flight to Dulles (DC) was 5 hours delayed. Thus started our whirlwind of line waiting. After achieving the "next in line" status we were told we were in the wrong line and needed to get into the other long line we had just passed. We waited for quite awhile and in the meantime Daniel secured us tickets through NW airlines courtesy of United. We headed over to the no line excited to not have to change our future plans at all. When we attempted to check-in we were told they could not honor our new tickets as our reservations were made through Ethiopian air not United. So back to the long line at United. All along we are smiling and laughing as this is really our first hiccup in our adoption process (this round). Our "line-friends" let us back in rather than doubling our wait by going to the end. See...there are perks to being an outgoing linewaiter, I think they were more disappointed in our rejection then we were. A total of 4 1/2 hours later we had new tickets in our hand, a free hotel room in DC and new Ethiopian Air tickets out of Dulles tomorrow morning. This is all good...we get to sleep in a bed tonight rather than an airline seat! We are off to the gate here at PDX. :)

  1. Ok!!!!! It has been 4 days! We NEED an update! Even in rural Ethiopia there are internet cafes everywhere so there is no excuses!
