This seems like an obvious statement but it is much more than just adding our oldest son to our family. The last few days have been full of riding bikes, scooters and playing with neighborhood friends. The girls across the street come over every afternoon and want to play. They are 6 and 9. As I type this my children are at the end of the street playing with the small children that live there. The time has come that our kids must learn boundaries, rules, and safety in order to be safe and have fun.
I have longed for this time in their lives for them and for me. I am, however, having a hard time letting go of my little ones and their innocence and extreme boundaries. We've never really let them regularly play in the front yard. Now they are coming and going like we own the whole street. Yikes! Course, we are out on the porch or lawn to watch them constantly...but it has just dawned on me that our children are really growing up!
Summer of change...is this mama ready for it?!

Scary, isn't it? I still have a hard time not being completely anxious when my kids are on field trips at school. Nice picture, by the way!
