My Baby Girl is 6!

I cannot believe how big my beautiful little girl is becoming.  She has blossomed so much this year in Kindergarten.  She was so cute when I asked her what kind of party she wanted...she told me...

"When I get off the bus everyone needs to hide behind the couch.  I will walk down the hall, get a book, sit on the couch and read and then everyone jumps out and will yell "Surprise!"".

Her day started off with her calling all the shots.  What to have for breakfast...she chose strawberry pancakes with apple sauce on top.  Then she chose the prayers all day...who would say them that is.  I arrived home at 8:30am with a butterfly birthday balloon and goodie bags and items to stuff them with.  Deonna and I then made bags with candy, a pencil, a stencil, a cookie and a few other goodies for each child in her class.  Then I made stickers (labels) that said "Thank you for spending my 6th Birthday with me".  ~From Deonna.

I took her to school and she was met by her sweet teacher who had a birthday crown for her to wear.  Elation!!!

We hung a happy birthday banner on our house and carried out her birthday party wishes.  She even acted surprised when we jumped out from behind the couches and yelled "surprise!"

We just had an immediate family party for her this year.  My mom had brought by a gift during the day and so Deonna had 3 gifts to open.  A stuffed kitty and penguin from mom that goes with her piano books, a Barbie vacation home from Daniel & I and a Barbie from her brothers and sister.  She was so thrilled.  It was so cute.  I played with her for about an hour.  What fun!  I missed the Barbie fun as a kid...I got my first Barbie at 18 years old.  Now to find her...she is somewhere safe.

I am so thankful for Deonna!  She makes me smile and grateful to be her mom.  She is forgiving and kind and loving.  She makes the world a better place to be.  I am thankful she is my daughter.  I see perfection through her.  She is a great sister and friend and I really am blessed to know her.  I cannot believe that I am her mom and have the privilege of raising her as my own.

Here is Deonna at her different birthdays.

3rd Birthday: A New Bike:

5th Birthday:  A Pool Party with Friends:

Yesterday on her 6th Birthday:  Barbie Enters Our Home:

For a second there I thought maybe she only wore lime green on her birthdays.  I will add her 1st and 2nd later as they are on our external hard drive and we are missing the cord...

Here are some more of her fun day.

  3. I remember playing Barbie's with you when both of us were probably a little too old for it! My favorite was hot tub Barbie party. You were so ingenious when it came to imagination and making our own things. It is great to see your daughter learn and grow!
