Friday, June 26th
This morning we were all nerves. We were so excited to meet Robel. So many unknowns. When we arrived at the WACAP house many of the kids were coming towards the van and car. However, I spotted our Robel jumping rope. I got out of the car ran to him and held him tight and cried. Cried for all the unknowns, cried for the loss, cries for how much I love him. Cries for how perfect he is. He held me tight and kissed my cheek. He is so soft and fabulous. We prayed for this magical moment and God granted this gift through our little boy. As I cried he wiped my tears and held me and kissed my cheek. Oh, how I love him! We just kept telling each other how perfect he is. He is a perfect child, perfect for our family, perfect gift from God above. We cannot express how much this meeting has affected us but it will forever be engraved on my heart. I cannot express enough how he truly is an answer to our fervent prayers.

At our visit Ato Teklu gave a little speech of appreciation and then Minuab, the Bete Hisanet director also talked to us about how their program worked. This was slightly boring to Robel so he went out and played. He came back though. He loved to play with our camera and camcorder and was really good at figuring them out. In fact, he showed me how to do something I didn't even know how to do.

After our visit we went the Ethiopia National Museum. It was fabulous, it went from millions of years back with the discovery of Lucy & Salem to modern day. We took lots of pictures of art and artifacts.

Then we went shopping! We got some amazing souvenirs. A painting of a shepherd boy carrying his goat. A gorgeous leather and silver basket with lid (we'll serve our enjera from it). Ethnic clothing for everyone in the family. A ring for me (left my silver band from Mexico in our DC hotel room. Cute little baskets for the kids. We had a good time and found some great stuff.

We showed some of our home video of Lalibella and trip to Kombolcha to Julia, Kelly, Steph, Steve and Jim. We had fun laughing and telling stories with them too. It is a great pleasure to be here with our new found friends and siblings through adoption. :)
