34 by 34

Ahhh to new years resolutions. I've heard recently that 50% are kept if you make one. Here is to a healthier me.



My goal is to lose 34 lbs by my 34th Birthday (March 25th). I know it seems like a lot to do in 3 short months but I have very high hopes and since I am significantly overweight I notice it comes off more quickly when you have a lot to lose. I am going South Beach. The first 2 weeks is a lot like Atkins but then I can add berries, nuts & whole grain pasta, bread, & fat free milk after the first phase. I am looking forward to a leaner, healthier me. I already work out 2-3x a week and I will be adding walking 3x a week as well.

I have a few exercise goals...#1 to run in the Starlight Parade which is a 5k (3.2 miles) fun run at the end of May/early June. I have done it before and feel so good for accomplishing such a great feat. I also want to walk in the Portland to Coast (held the same weekend as Hood to Coast run) July some time. If you want to join my team...let me know.



Please root me on!!! I will update my blog with my successes and failures to keep me honest. I have eaten broccoli, about 10 cocktail shrimp and a low fat cheese stick...no I will not update everything I eat...I am just happy and satisfied right now. So far, so good!

After I lose the initial 34 lbs I will be working on 35 more lbs by my 35th Birthday and then I will be at my healthy weight. I look forward to being more active with my kids, looking good in my clothes, feeling sexy. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
