Just for you!

Last year about this time, my sweet son, Robel had been home to us for just under 9 months and only been in Cub Scouts for about 2 1/2 months.  When it became Pine Wood Derby time!  At that time Robel had NO IDEA what the heck he was suppose to do nor understand why...  So he quickly drew a design for Dad to cut out (because we told him to), he slapped some paint on it and that was that.  He said he didn't mind if he lost...he'd rather someone else be happy with a win.  (Yes, that is my sons typical sweet attitude).  His car did not do well, and indeed his friends got to win!  He was happy for them but had caught the competitve spirit!

This year quite different... "I hope I win!"  "I think my car is the best!"  "I love my car" "Dad, how can we make it faster?"

So last night was our Pine Wood Derby race.  His car weighed in at the exact allowance of 5 ounces.  He had made a sign for us to hold.  He was as ready as he could be.  I believe his first race was in heat 3.  He car flew past the others and won.  His car then was able to run in 3 more heats (once in each race lane) and each time his car was victor.  You should have seen his face.  Precious.

Not only did he get first place for his Webelos den.  He was overall pack winner and will be going to districts!  FUN!!!  I understand he will compete against his cousin Aiden who also was his packs first prize winner.

Whats funny is Robel keeps telling me "I won for you, Mom!"  "For your Birthday!"  Isn't that sweet!  He says "I did it just for you!"  Thank you little man, you always do me proud!

How cute is that!  What a sweet cheerleader too!

Happy day.

His car (truck) is the top right one!  Since he qualified for districts...he cannot touch his car until after that.

Overall winner!  Yippee!!!

Far left is his racing truck!
